The letter I received says it better than I ever could:
Dear Ms. Levinson
I am a gay man in England and I recently found a website called "petition them" which allows ordinary people to create an on-line petition. So I have created one aimed at abolishing Section 28. I am sure you have heard of this legislation in England which has caused real problems for lesbian and gay men.

I wonder if you would mind adding a link to the petition somewhere on your site, maybe in an article? So far I have only managed to get nineteen signatures on it from my friends but obviously this isn't enough to make an income.
