Readers Respond - Pope - Comment by Tim

Subject: re: pope article

RE: Newsnote 9

It amazes me that you take offense to a pope that you do not agree with. Why not just be tolerant. I thought that was supposed to be your "sides" battle cry.

Why is it whenever a "Christian" that opposes your view point, comes out and opposes it , He or She is made out to be wrong? Isn't the Pope allowed to have his own opinion, and all of his followers? Isn't it hypocritical to bash him for stating his beliefs in front of his followers, on his "turf" so to speak, when your side is allowed to freely speak through media such as about.com and the popular media.

"But it is believed that he was encouraged by local rightist politicians, whose comments about the march included describing it as "a depressing spectacle," to take a harsh stand"

To quote this as fact without reference is simply poor journalism. Certainly the Church can take a good bashing, it has stood the test of time, but to express opinion and others opinions without basis turns your corner of about.com into your political stump, not a starting point/portal for which about claims to be.

As a Catholic no one hates you, the message has been true and consistant through time. You may not like it, but as they say-"then change the channel", the Church's take on your lifestyle cannot change.

---------------
with "The Pope is mistaken when he says homosexuality is unnatural....Who decides what is natural and what is not?"

UMMMM..the bible, and like I said before, change the channel or learn more about the Church. It is a free country.

Regards!

Tim
