Readers Respond - Pope - Comment by SB
Subject: On the POPE issue.....
I believe that the POPE has the right to say exactly what he said, it is within the "FREEDOM of speech " rights, and it is in the bylaws of the Catholic religion that gay/lesbian acts and beliefs are not accepted and are immoral. To put it in perspective for you, the rights to be vulgar do not exist! Such laws would be turning our now world, into the ROME WORLD and the fall of men (Thank God for the Irish!) . Have we forgotten of the history? I DO NOT AGREE that the gay/lesbian are a race and ought to have their own rights. They just seem to have different SEXUAL preferences and that is not a requirement for such rights! It is just a mental preference! Most of all, the Right wing people did not ask or pressure the POPE is making such comments, All religions follow the same beliefs! You seem to write as if you had some sort of bone to pick with someone! If you do your research (I suggest that you take up reading) you can find out that what the POPE said is written in the Bible. It does not state anywhere that you should wear a (Las Vegas) lit up sign over your head that states and advertises that you are gay! Nor impose your sexual preference on others. Please for Gods sake keep it to yourself! I do not go around advertising that I am heterosexual!
