If you're going to criticize the Pope, keep in mind what he is basing his comments on. The Pope is right to say it is important to distinguish good from evil. He did not say Gays were evil, but being able to distinguish good from evil behavior is fundamental to understanding the Bible. Anyone who chooses actions that are not within the context of God's laws should accept the fact that they are acting outside the norm of God's laws. No one can stop someone from practicing Gay or Lesbian behavior. But Gays or Lesbians cannot demand acceptance from anyone (the Pope included) who uses the Bible as the norm for what is right or wrong.
